Automation
Automation waste and recycling collection has been underway for nearly two years. The Community has welcomed this change. This has been evident by the increase tonnage of recycling that has occured. Tons of material that has been recycled increased from 9% to 30% in just two years. Congratulations!
Community Quarterly Cleanup
The City has a mission to cleanup their neighborhoods. As part of this program, a citywide cleanup is provided by Desert Valley Disposal every 3 months. Residents can call our office to have a crew come by and pickup two bulky waste items. They also can set out two bulky waste items at each quarterly cleanup. Residents can also transport additional debris to the City Maintenance Yard located at the west end of Hacienda between the hours of 8-2 PM.
The next Quarterly Cleanup is scheduled for the week of July 21-26, 2008.
A Future Quarterly Cleanup is scheduled for the week of October 20-25, 2008.
Electronic Waste Roundup (Ewaste)
Electronic waste includes televisions, personal computers, cell phones and similar devices. Customers are welcome to drop of this material at our Palm Springs facility during business hours. If you would like this material collected from the curb, contact our office for a pickup. Televisions exceeding 36 inches in size will be subject to added charges. Ewaste collected at your resident are subject to the annual limits of bulky waste pickup.
